Now, Nepal has started to bat against MCC and let's see how will Nepal's total defensive game will look like.
What has happened so far ?
Nepal won the toss at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on November 6th and captain Gyanendra Malla decided that Nepal will bowl first. Coming into bat first, MCC started impressively with some genuine defensive yet a good balance of runs (especially boundaries). At the end of the first day MCC were at 311/6 playing 86 overs, which is a nice score playing in South Asian conditions so different from what MCC experienced back home in England.
Coming into second day, MCC could not keep their nerves and lost 4 wickets before launch. Nepali bowlers served the fans with some lovely bit of attacking bowling to restrict MCC for 364/10 after they played 101 overs. The atting reign of MCC has now come to an end and the chase is on. As far as we are writing this post, Nepal is at 16/2 after 6 Overs. Captain Gyanendra Malla got out for a duck and Sharad Vesawkar also got out after scoring just 4 runs. Aarif Sheikh is batting at 5 Runs and and Raju Rijal is at 6 Runs. This is now the start Nepal was looking for.
What Next ?
Now Nepal have already came to bat with 364 in their head. It will be interesting to see how MCC will bowl so as to restrict Nepal below 364. Meanwhile, Nepal will try to score more than 364 and get a lead on their hands. It seems very important for Nepal to take the lead and also not get all out any any circumstances by today. Else Nepal maybe in trouble as tomorrow is the last day of the 3 Day First Class Match.
We'll be updating you with more updates soon. Till then, sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful game of cricket. Cheers !
