Winning the toss, India Under 23 choose to field first. Being invited to bat first Nepal started the innings off in a very bad way. Captain Gyanendra Malla got out for a duck in the very second ball of Nepal's batting innings. Also, in the first ball, Gyanendra was appealed for LBW but umpire denied and then it the second ball Dube clean bowled Gyanendra Malla.
Sharad and Kushal Bhurtel made a partnership of 54 runs off 101 balls to rescue Nepal's early loss. Taking about individual scores of players. Kushal Bhurtel, who was on his debut scored 28 runs off 60 ball that included 4 boundaries on his account. Aarif Sheikh only managed to score 2 runs whereas Dipendra Singh Airee 24 runs of 31 ball including 3 boundaries.
For the fourth wicket, Sarad and Dipendra Singh Airee made 44 runs jointly. Soon after Dipendra got out, Sharad Vesawkar got out for LBW after scoring 44 runs. Pawan's Attacking Half Century
Nepal would not have reached the total of 193 if Pawan Sarraf hadn't scored an attacking half century. Pawan scored 56 runs off 49 balls to drive Nepal to a respectable total. He smashed 7 fours and 2 sixes to reach his first ever half century. Pawan later got out for LBW in the quicker ball of Dube.
